To All 2017 Cornhusker State Games Badminton Players,

Welcome to badminton’s 29th consecutive appearance in the Cornhusker State Games. Your participation will make this a fun and memorable event.

More importantly, I want everyone to be aware of a few necessary changes that had to be made in the past few days. There are more players than usual playing in more multiple events. It is impossible to complete all 123 matches on Saturday before the gym closes at 6 pm. This welcome but unpredicted increase has forced the following changes:

• All Open, Rec, High School, Youth, and Senior SINGLES events will be played on Saturday July 22nd. All Rec, High School, Youth, and Senior DOUBLES events will also play Saturday. So too, Rec MIXED and Senior MIXED DOUBLES.

• Here’s the major change: Open Women’s SINGLES, Open Men’s DOUBLES, Open Women’s DOUBLES, and Open MIXED DOUBLES move to Sunday July 23rd  beginning at 10am and go to conclusion.

So much interest and enthusiasm is great. I hope each of you understand the situation. Moving certain events to Sunday is the best for everyone.

If the change is an inconvenience to anyone, I apologize. We have 123 matches to play. Everyone deserves time off the court as well as on.

One last plea to everyone: please, please, show up on time: 7:30am Saturday for the welcome, instructions, and administrative details. Singles play begins promptly at 8am. Don’t be late!
